Go mumma turtle

Not much happening in this neck of the woods, it is getting warmer though hovering around 30 degrees which isnt too bad except the humidity is around 70% and thats the killer - shouldnt complain though becuase everyone says this is nothing and it just gets worse from here on it.  Not to worry one more week of work and then we will be on our way again, travelling inland and then south this time.

Went for a walk this morning as a lady had said there were turtle tracks on the sand where the mother had come ashore to lay her eggs swo off we went - a bit further than i thought with about a 6k round walk.  although it was only 10am it was pretty hot and when we got back a swim was definitely on for me - Tony still not too keen - sadly though it wasnt all that refreshing - hmm could be becuase the water temperature according to the life guard was 27 degrees.

Turtle tracks

The last week or so George has been getting a makeover, we have taken to roofrack off and Tony meticuously spray painted the roof and then we painted the roof rack - hoping to get it back on tonight - hoping to enlist the help of a forklift driver because the sodding think is heavy.

Work and days off

4 weeks down and 4 to go - in theory.  Have had some probelems with our computer on the IBC line since we got back and one day noticed this screw sitting out in the yard - it is a new one yet to be fitted and is what controls the flow of sugar to our line.  Apparently it is worth $11,000 - the problems we have had seem to be fixed so not sure what will happen with the new screw, I presume it will just sit there until such time as it is needed.

We have also been watching with interest the construction platforms that are working on the wharf extension for Hay Point.

We also finally went for a drive along the breakwater wall for the port and marina which had been destroyed in the cyclone and has only just been reopened.

We have been spending a few nights at Slade Point which has a lovely beach, bbqs, toilets, outside shower and power - just about everything we could need - I have been swimming a couple of times but Tony has been a little wary of sharks and stingers - I finally convinced him to get into the water with me - just as well he saw these guys after we went swimming!!!
